My Unplanned Walking Habit

When people talk about fitness, they often think of strict routines—morning runs, gym sessions, or evening yoga. But not everyone sticks to a formal exercise regimen. I don’t follow a structured walking or running routine, but that doesn’t mean I’m inactive.

Though I don’t go out for scheduled walks or runs, walking is still a big part of my daily life. Inside the house, I move around constantly—doing chores, tidying up, going room to room. Outside, my courtyard becomes an open-air path where I naturally get my steps in. Whether it’s watering plants, getting some fresh air, or simply pacing while thinking, I end up walking daily without making a plan for it.

It’s easy to overlook the everyday movements that keep us active. While it may not be part of an official fitness routine, walking inside the house and around the courtyard has helped me stay moving and feel refreshed.

Sometimes, the best kind of exercise is the kind that doesn’t feel like exercise at all.
