A Tear of Joy

What brings a tear of joy to your eye?

There are moments in life that bring a tear of joy—moments that remind us of how far we’ve come, despite the challenges we’ve faced. For me, one of those moments happened recently after 11 long years living with my RTA (road traffic accident) injury.

After more than a decade, I was finally able to sit on the floor for hours during meditation. That simple act—something most might take for granted—filled me with overwhelming gratitude and brought tears to my eyes. It wasn’t just about sitting; it was about reclaiming a part of myself I thought was lost.

The leg that once teetered on the brink of amputation has now become more flexible and stronger. This progress, however small it may seem to others, is a huge victory in my journey of healing.

This experience taught me that healing isn’t always about big leaps. Sometimes, it’s the small steps—like sitting on the floor—that hold the deepest meaning. These moments of progress, patience, and perseverance are worth celebrating.

So, if you’re on a challenging path, remember to cherish the small wins. They might just bring a tear of joy to your eye, and remind you that healing is possible.
