Ingredients

  • 2 ripe Kerala bananas
  • 1 cup of coconut milk (use only the thick 1st milk)
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cardamom powder
  • 2 pinches of cumin seed powder
  • 1 pinch of dry ginger powder
  • 1 teaspoon of honey (adjust to taste)
  • Sliced or powdered nuts (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

Peel and slice the ripe bananas into round pieces.

In a cooking pot, bring a cup of water to a boil over high heat. Stir occasionally to prevent burning.

Once the water has evaporated, the banana slices will be cooked. Reduce the heat to a simmer and add the coconut milk, stirring continuously. Avoid boiling the mixture.

Turn off the stove and add the cardamom, cumin seed powder, and dry ginger powder. Mix everything well.

If desired, garnish with sliced or powdered nuts.

Allow the dish to cool to room temperature before adding honey. Mix gently to avoid crushing the banana slices.

The delicious Milkoban is now ready to be served. If you prefer a chilled dessert, refrigerate it for a while before enjoying. Those who like the taste of ghee could add a little for extra taste.
