No Genre, Just Vibes

What is your favorite genre of music?

When people ask me what my favorite genre of music is, I usually pause for a moment—because honestly, I don’t have one. I’ve never been the type to stick to just pop, or EDM, or hip-hop. My playlist isn’t neatly sorted by category. Instead, it’s a colorful mix of beats, rhythms, and sounds from all over the world.

What do they all have in common? One thing: they make me want to move.

For me, music isn’t about labels—it’s about energy. If a song has a good beat, an infectious rhythm, and the power to lift me out of my seat and onto my feet, then it earns a spot on my favorites list. Whether it’s a Latin track with irresistible percussion, a Bollywood hit with high-octane energy, or a classic dance-pop anthem that never gets old, I’m all in.

There’s something incredibly freeing about dancing to music you love. It’s not about technique—it’s about feeling. That moment when the beat drops, your body takes over, and nothing else matters? That’s magic.

So no, I don’t have a “favorite genre.” I have favorite vibes. And they usually involve turning up the volume, clearing a little space, and dancing like no one’s watching.
