What are your favorite brands and why?
I’ve never really been someone who cares much about brands.
You know that moment when someone proudly shows off their new shoes or bag and says, “It’s from that brand”? I usually smile politely, but in the back of my mind, I’m thinking, Nice… but I probably found something just as good, for way less—and mine came without the logo.
Don’t get me wrong—I don’t dislike brands. I get the appeal. They stand for quality, style, and sometimes even a little luxury. But over time, I’ve realized I’m not buying into the hype. What really matters to me isn’t the name—it’s the product itself.
There’s a pattern I’ve noticed: as soon as a brand becomes famous, the price tag shoots up. Suddenly, you’re not just paying for the product—you’re paying for marketing, packaging, influencers, and that little emblem or label that tells the world what you’re wearing. And honestly? That just doesn’t appeal to me.
What I do love is finding high-quality products that aren’t necessarily well-known. The ones you don’t hear about on social media or see on billboards. I’ve discovered all kinds of things—clothing, shoes, gadgets—that work beautifully, look great, and last long, all without the high-end branding. Some of my favorite things came from small local shops, independent sellers, or even online stores with no big-name recognition.
Don’t get me wrong—I admire people who love branded goods. If you’ve got the budget and enjoy the experience, I totally get it. Some brands truly do offer something special, and I respect anyone who finds joy in that. But for me, spending extra for a name just doesn’t feel right. I’d rather put that money toward something that matters more to me—like travel, hobbies, a home décor or whatever I find more worthwhile.
At the end of the day, I think shopping should be about what works for you—not what impresses others.
So no, I don’t have a favorite brand. But I do have a favorite way to shop: with intention, curiosity, and a bit of a rebel spirit.
Because finding quality for less? Now that’s a thrill.
