What Are Your Favorite Emojis?

I’ve always loved emojis that bring warmth, gratitude, and positivity into conversations. A few of my go-to favorites are:

🙏 – for saying thanks or sharing a sense of peace and respect
❤️ – because who doesn’t love spreading a little love?
🥰 – for that sweet, affectionate “looking with love” moment
👍 – the classic thumbs-up, perfect for quick encouragement
👏 – for celebrating someone’s effort or saying “well done”
👆 – the handy “look above” emoji I often use to point out a message or line

Each one feels like a small gesture that adds emotion and friendliness to everyday chats. But speaking of gestures…

I actually had a funny (and slightly embarrassing) emoji moment a few years back when I was just getting the hang of using them. I meant to use the 👆 pointing up emoji to direct someone to a message above in a group chat. But instead—completely by accident—I sent the 🖕 middle finger emoji.

Yep. That one.

At the time, I didn’t even know what it meant—I genuinely thought it was just another finger pointing upwards. Luckily, someone in the group caught it almost instantly and gave me a quick heads-up. I was able to delete it before too many people saw it… but for a moment there, it could’ve been a very awkward situation!

Lesson learned: always double-check your emoji’s before sending, especially in group chats!

Since then, I’ve become a little more emoji-savvy—and honestly, I think they’re such a fun, expressive way to add personality and kindness to communication. As long as we’re using them with care (and a bit of humor), they can say so much with just one symbol.
