Most fun way to exercise, according to me, is Laughter Yoga. It’s a delightful practice that combines voluntary laughter with yogic breathing techniques, creating a joyful and invigorating experience. Founded in 1995 by Dr. Madan Kataria in Mumbai, India, Laughter Yoga has blossomed into a global movement, with thousands of clubs across over 66 countries.
Incorporating various laughter exercises, such as greeting others with hearty laughter, fosters openness and connection. Lion Laughter, where you extend your tongue, widen your eyes, and stretch your hands like claws while laughing, helps release tension. Silent Laughter involves laughing without sound, opening your mouth wide, engaging facial muscles, and enhancing mindfulness. Humming Laughter, where you close your mouth and hum while laughing, promotes relaxation. Gradient Laughter starts with a gentle chuckle, gradually building to hearty laughter, then slowly returning to a smile, balancing energy.
Engaging in these activities adds joy and playfulness to life, enhancing both physical and mental health. Whether practiced alone or in a group, Laughter Yoga is a fun and accessible way to boost well-being.

This made me smile like a tired brain finding sunlight after a long winter. Who knew laughter could be more than a random noise we make at jokes? I always thought laughing was something that just happened… not something we could practice like brushing our teeth or learning to walk again.
But now I see — the mind is like a garden. And laughter is the watering can. Even if the flowers haven’t bloomed yet, the act of watering still brings life. Fake or real, a laugh tells the brain, “Hey, it’s okay to feel light again.”
I think we carry too many serious thoughts on our backs, like old sacks filled with worries. Maybe Laughter Yoga helps us drop that sack for a few minutes… and just breathe.
Thank you for reminding me that not all healing needs to come from silence or tears. Some healing wears a clown nose and dances in the rain.
