A Glimpse into My Parents’ Journey
In their prime, my parents found themselves deeply entrenched in the vibrant world of agriculture, where they dedicated their days to cultivating expansive acres of land. Their toil extended across a diverse landscape adorned with rubber, coconut, arecanut, pepper, paddy, tapioca, ginger, turmeric, various types of yams, sweet potatoes, ube, and a myriad of vegetables. The rhythmic cycle of growth became the soundtrack to their lives as they nurtured the land and its bounty.
Their hands, weathered and calloused, engaged in a dance between the fertile soil and the thriving crops. The symphony of nature played around them, echoing the tireless commitment to hard work and a profound connection to the earth’s roots. The rustle of leaves and the earthy scent of the land painted a vivid picture of their agricultural pursuits.
In addition to cultivating crops, my parents tended to a bustling community of animals and chickens, creating a harmonious ecosystem. Livestock received meticulous care, and the lively presence of poultry added a dynamic layer to their agrarian lifestyle.
The memories of their days were marked by the cyclical dance of planting, nurturing, and harvesting, embracing the challenges and rewards that each season brought. Their lives were a testament to the enduring connection between humanity and the land, where the fruits of their labor went beyond mere crops to embody a profound respect for the natural world.
