Yes, I am patriotic to a certain degree.
My patriotism is love for people and hope for change
The word “patriotic” feels complex for me. While I adore my country and state, demanding blind loyalty or willingness to die for the country seems excessive.
My version of patriotism lies in the deep concern I have for my fellow citizens. It’s in yearning for a change in leadership, one that unites people, transcends biases, and works for the betterment of all, regardless of religion or politics.
I envision a nation where everyone experiences the basic necessities: proper food, secure shelter, and comfortable clothing. Education should nourish young minds, and healthcare shouldn’t be a luxury.
The recent image of a mother and her mentally challenged daughters living in a desolate shed haunts me. They aren’t alone. Countless families grapple with poverty and neglect, often ignored due to political affiliations. This saddens me beyond words.
For me, true patriotism is about loving the land and cherishing its people. It’s about ensuring equity, opportunity, and well-being for all. It’s about dreaming of a future where everyone thrives, not just a select few.
This is the patriotism that burns within me, a fire fueled by empathy and a vision for a better tomorrow.
