Write about your first computer.

My first computer was a desktop marvel, complete with a bulky monitor that seemed to dominate the entire desk space. The CPU, an enormous entity with a floppy disk insertion slot, stood as the brains of the operation. The keyboard, a clunky but reliable companion, sat next to a mouse that seemed almost comically oversized in comparison to my palm, making it a bit challenging to handle. Together, they claimed a significant portion of a table, leaving little room for anything else.

The myriad of cables snaking around the setup created a complex web, with a wired internet connection demanding its own dedicated cable and a large modem playing a crucial role in connecting to the online world. The connection, however, was not without its quirks, often faltering and causing frustration. The real challenge surfaced when power outages struck, abruptly extinguishing the computer’s glow and erasing any unsaved data in the process.

Despite these technological hiccups, owning a personal computer was a groundbreaking experience in my neighborhood. In an era when personal computers were still a rarity, this behemoth represented a leap into the digital age, sparking curiosity and envy among those in my community. Looking back, it wasn’t just a machine; it was a gateway to a new world of possibilities.
